I received Ernest Martin's Secret of Golgotha  yesterday and would like to share some of what he presents.  His work was new to me, but it answered several questions.  Points that I have gotten so far are that both the crucifixion and burial occurred near the southern summit of the Mount of Olives (Upper Mount Moriah) in the area of the Altar without the Camp, and, second,  that the Jewish crowd at the tree were hurling more than insults, but small sharp stones as they imposed the sentence of stoning for blasphemy on the crucified Savior.

I had a moving visit to the Garden Tomb this spring, but now believe that I was at the wrong location.  I now see that the crucifixion site was on the Mount opposite the Temple and that the tearing of the veil was visible to the Centurion.  Josephus has the Shekinah Glory moving from the Temple to the Mount of Olives in 66 CE.  The Mount of Olives is where the believers in the first centuries commemorated the death, burial and resurrection.   Yeshua's  tomb was in a cave on the west side of the summit, while Lazarus' tomb was in a cave on the east side.  This Mount is YHWH's footstool (Zekariah 14).

Concerning the stoning, I wondered how Isaiah 52:14 was fulfilled.

Isa 52:14  As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:
