New Madrid Earthquake, Tecumseh, and the Creation Calendar
Carl Felland
Panther-Across-the-Sky is an account of the prediction years in advance by the Indian chief Tecumseh of the New Madrid Earthquake of December 16, 1811. I have put the events surrounding the earthquake prediction below on a midnight to midnight Jerusalem based universal creation calendar and on a day/night calendar.
Tecumseh distributed bundles of red sticks with a sacred slab to Indian chiefs scattered across the US from December 1809 through August 1811. The chiefs were instructed to throw out one stick at each full moon. After November 1 all the chiefs had only the slab and one stick remaining. On November 11 Tecumseh instructed them that in six days a preliminary sign would come, and that following the sign they were to take the last stick and cut it into thirty pieces. Each day thereafter one of these pieces would be burned in the light of dawn. The thirtieth piece was to be burned in the midst of the night and would be soon followed by the great sign that Tecumseh had foretold.
Both the preliminary sign (November 16) and the earthquake (December 16) happened on the day of the New Moon (the day after conjunction) using midnight to midnight dates. The sticks being thrown away at the full moon seem to indicate the current month. The twenty nine pieces of sticks being burned at dawn seem to be associated with the previous daylight period (Biblical "day"). Thus, the first pieced burned at the light of dawn on November 17 would represent the day of November 16 (the first day of a Biblical month) and the last of the twenty nine pieces burned at the light of dawn on the December 15 would represent the day of December 14 (the twenty ninth day of a Biblical month).
I understand that in a Biblical calendar day/night, noon/midnight, and new moon/full moon are all important factors. If this story is true and if the signs corresponded in any way with those provided by YHWH, perhaps we can use this account as we study the calendar.

Dates are in midnight to midnight boxes. This calendar is based on Jerusalem (31deg 47 sec N, 35 deg 14 sec E), although there is no difference in dates based on local or Jerusalem reckoning for these months. The dates in blue indicate new moon days, the first being the conjunction day, and the second being the Day of the New Moon. A twenty-nine day month occurs when the conjunction day overlaps with the final sabbath of the month. The dates in black are the working days and the dates in red are the seventh day Sabbaths. Major moon phases and the time are indicated for new moon conjunction (NM), first quarter (FQ), full moon, and last quarter (LQ). The first month begins after the spring equinox. In most cases, the first crescent moon will be visible on the evening of the Day of the New Moon.
