Sample Universal Calendar
This calendar is based on the intervals from midnight to midnight in Jerusalem. The dates are the same for both the East and the West. This calendar can also be viewed as a Day/Night cycle. The dates in blue indicate new moon days, the first being the conjunction day, and the second being the Day of the New Moon. A twenty-nine day month occurs when the conjunction day overlaps with the final sabbath of the month; a thirty day month occurs when the conjunction day follows the final sabbath of the month. The dates in black are the working days and the dates in red are the seventh day Sabbaths (8, 15, 22, and 29).
The average timings of the major moon phases are indicated for new moon conjunction (NM), first quarter (FQ), full moon, and last quarter (LQ). At this point I understand that the first month follows the spring equinox. In most cases, the first crescent moon will be visible on the evening of the Day of the New Moon.
