** Seven Complete Sabbaths [weeks] (Leviticus 23:15)

** From an email from Timothy Sakach.  I would argue that Israel was released from bondage of Egypt on the 14th, but did not physically leave Egypt until the 15th-16th.  There could be multiple locations in the Wilderness of Sinai, such as closer to the Mount.

The Israelites were brought out of Egypt on the day part of Passover, the 14th day of the month. Exodus 13. This is not a non-working day. The Feast of Trumpets on the first day of the Seventh month is a High Day (non-working). Also the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur) is on the sixth day. It is a High Day (non-working) and it is followed by the weekly Sabbath. This is also a problem for the Jews, who go to great lengths to "change the times" so that Yom Kippur NEVER falls on the sixth day of the week! The prophet Malachi declares, "Judah has lost faith!" Again, "not convenient" to have a "fasting and non-working day" prior to a weekly Sabbath. What? No food?

Exodus 19:1 That day is the 14th day of the month and the 7th day of the week. The next day, the first day of the week and the 15th day of the month, is the Feast of Firstfruits. The statements made on that day are very fitting for that High day: "This is what you are to say to the House of Jacob and declare to the children of Israel: 'You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles wings and brought you to Myself. And now, if you diligently obey My voice, and shall guard my covenant, then you shall be My treasured possession above all the people -- for all the earth is Mine and you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a set-apart nation.' Those are the words that you are to speak to the children of Israel." This is the meaning of the Feast of Firstfruits.

Then on the third day of the week after getting ready for the event, the ten commands were given and the covenant confirmed.

The 15th day of the third month is made clear by the logic of the revealed calendar in Chapter 72. Start on the 4th day of the week as the first day of the first month. Two and one half months afterward is the 15th day of the third month and the first day of that week. This logic aligns with the Feasts and High Days starting with the Passover on the 14th day. And it aligns with the 15th day of the third month, which is the end of the 1,335 days.

Back to month 2.
