Unsure of which month is first this year. Provide an updated 2010-2011 calendar based on first month coming after the equinox. This updated calendar moves Shavuot to the day before the beginning of the fifth month. Logically, if the months begin after conjunction, the years would begin after equinox. However, starting the first month after spring equinox does not cause the seventh month to follow fall equinox. This method also increases variation to the fit of calendar and agricultural seasons.

Wanting to lead my family in "Truth Study" rather than "Bible Study," I've been studying topics in the last several weeks including Is Jesus the historical figure of Divus Julius, the God to which Julius Caesar was elevated? and Saul of Tarsus - a witness for Jesus? My faith that every character, action, and conversation in the Bible is trustworthy has been shaken. I appreciate those who have challenged me.

Added page suggested by Joey Thompson of the Jubilee cycle. He shares that the mystery that the 49 years mentioned in Lev. 25 are years 2 through 50, not 1 through 49, thus the first year is like a type of New Moon year and that Jubilee is the last half of year 50 (the Sabbath year or year 7 of that last week) and the first half of year 1 or year 8.

Added link to Metalogos: The Gospels of Thomas, Philip and Truth. This includes scholarly discussion and text of the three Nag Hammadi Gospels and the article The Paul Paradox. These writings probably have more support than the Gospel of the Nazarenes that I mentioned in the previous update.

Added link to The Nazarene Way. I see hints in the Bible that the cleansing of the Temple was against the animal sacrifice in general rather than just against the moneychangers, as is spelled out in the Gospel of the Nazarenes.

August 22, 2009 (2nd day of 6th month)

My family is observing today as the first work day of the 6th month. We forgot to look for the crescent moon last night here in Arkansas. However, whether or not the moon was visible locally, the moon was over 24 hours old at sunset here and in Jerusalem, indicating to me that the new month had begun.

I agree with Troy Miller that transit time is more important than fraction of the moon illuminated, but argue that the time of conjunction is the critical point in the cycle. http://www.druidry.org/moon.html is an applet that allows one to see moon phase and transit times from any site on earth.

Paul of Tarsus, Prophet or Heretic, An Investigation in History and Theology, by Ya'akov Ben Avraham. Ya'akov clearly reveals the "Spouter of Lies" as the Gnostic enemy of Messiah. The message in the above website is strongly Jewish. The webmaster is struggling with understanding whether the Torah bears the marks of a false religion opposed by the Prophets and the Messiah. We still covet prayers for wisdom.

http://www.judaismvschristianity.com/ Scott Nelson looks like he's about finished with this book. I urge everyone to read it in its entirety, especially those influenced by Christianity. As the father of a beautiful young woman, her mother and I are wanting to not get in the way of her finding the man she will delight in. We have befriended locally mostly Christian families, some of which have not yet seriously questioned the issues of salvation that Scott brings up. I am thankful that one young man is willing to study with us. We covet your prayers that Lydia and her parents will be able to test the spirits of those we fellowship with.

Hebrew-Prophecies-Coming-Paul Thomas has many insightful points including how Paul fits the prophecy of the abomination of desolation, how Luke's Gospel promotes Paul's Gospel, and how Paul's Gospel reintroduces the Nehushtan (2 Kings 18:4) in his glory in the cross (Gal 6:14).

2Ki 18:4 He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan.
